Job Summary
The Customer Design Authority (CDA) is responsible for owning the end-to-end detailed design of the
customer’s network for the duration of the client’s contract with Global Cloud Xchange (GCX). A CDA
will therefore ensure that the correct approach is used for all complex changes on the customer’s
network and will offer advice and support to ensure that they are implemented correctly.
Work for the CDA position will involve:
- Lab testing
o Responsible for configuring and testing the end-to-end low-level technical solution
o Testing all features and failover scenarios sold to the client to ensure that GCX delivers the correct
functionality
- Changes initiated by the account team Technical Consultant (Type TC changes)
- Advance Network Product (ADP) Support and Network Refresh Projects
- Design faults
- Customer meetings
- Design approval, technical design, testing and implementing of a customer solution
- Other technical supports
Duties & Responsibilities
The CDA will be responsible for testing, configuration of equipment, design approvals, Type TC changes
and accurate reporting to concerned teams.
The CDA will offer advice and support to Network Management Center (NMC) Level 3 engineers in the
understanding of a customer network. He/She will assist them with troubleshooting and ensure that
they have the correct level of technical support documentation.
Upon agreement with the Team leader, there may be occasions where the CDA will be requested to
attend customer workshops/meetings for in-depth design discussions.
The CDA will primarily support Presales, Project Managers, and Service Managers teams.

E - Full end-to-end QOS knowledge – classification, congestion management and avoidance, policing and
shaping, link efficiency mechanisms, etc.
D - Able to gain quick understanding of the scalability for a given solution.
D - Able to produce effective migration strategies and win customer’s approval.
Education/Qualification
The position requires a university degree in a Telecom, Engineering or equivalent work experience and 3
to 5+ years of technical experience in a similar role.
Required certifications:
- CCNP/CCIP Routing and Switching – OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, RIP, Redistribution, Filtering, Summarization
- Design experience, Security knowledge, IPT solutions, Call Manager and Call Manager Express, Unity
Additional Requirements
Fluent in Italian/English languages.
