Mission: Become the go‑to systems expert supporting Navy air missions at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy.

Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain PGS systems to ensure peak operational performance.
  • Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting for ground and selected air components, including TACDS networks, CSP, SSP and Minotaur.
  • Share operational maintenance responsibilities with Navy counterparts.
  • Support real‑time mission execution, troubleshooting system issues during pre‑flight, in‑flight and post‑flight operations.
  • Assist with RSM builds, offloads and maintain interoperability between remote and local mission systems.
  • Provide rapid anomaly escalation and generate JIRA tickets for SME engagement.
  • Execute scheduled corrective and emergency maintenance; conduct monthly security scans on ground‑based systems.
  • Implement software patches, upgrades and modifications.
  • Install, maintain and upgrade mission‑critical hardware such as Dell servers, Cisco routers, switches, UPS, VoIP and Adder systems.
  • Ensure network connectivity by collaborating with NAVAIR, PMW 120, NIWC‑LANT and other mission partners.
  • Deliver on‑the‑job training for fleet PGS operators.
  • Capture customer enhancement requests and collaborate with developers to drive mission‑valued improvements.
  • Provide after‑hours emergency system support to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or associate degree + 4 years specialized experience, or high‑school diploma + 8 years experience).
  • 6 years relevant experience (or 4 years with associate degree).
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8140‑approved IAT Level II certification within 90 days.
  • Experience with Navy P‑3 or P‑8 mission environments (desired).
  • Background in configuring, integrating and troubleshooting classified systems and networks.
  • Strong understanding of routing protocols, OSI model, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP.
  • Proficiency with RHEL/CentOS, Windows Server, AD, DNS.
  • Experience with Cisco systems.
  • Familiarity with Python, Java, SQL.
  • Knowledge of NetApp ONTAP tools.
